Copy a layer but not take materials with it

November 20, 2012 at 6:10 pmHallo,
I’ve copied and pasted to create another instance of a layer in Invig. But when I add materials to either the new layer, or the original one, it applies it to both layers rather than just one. Any way round this?
Thanks,
Nico

November 20, 2012 at 11:45 pmHi Nico,
If you are talking about duplicating an object in Invigorator PRO, then you will need to unlink the materials. To do this, select the duplicated object. Then, go to the “Object Style Swatches” panel. In the “Material Commands” menu, select “Unlink Object Style”. Then you will be able to apply a different material to the duplicated object.

November 21, 2012 at 10:38 amAh nice one, thanks! I’d have expected that switch to be in the object control panel…as it’s a crucial feature, and I never actually use object styles, so would never think to look for it there…

Thanks for the suggestion. I will bring this up to our team for the next version of our release.
