  • Coordinates problem when transfering from Cinema 4D to AE

    Hello,

I’ve imported Cinema 4D scene into AE. Everything works fine, but I have faced a little problem here.

I want to paint on the walls and floor of the imported 3D scene (with camera motion) in after effects.

I want to overlay some strokes and coulds and some extra stuff with animation.

The problem that I’ve faced is coordinates. Let’s say I create a solid and paint some strokes on it, then I switch 3D layer switch and now I have to position thie layer in 3D space so that it matches up with the scene and doesn’t mess up while camera is moving.

How should I determine the coordinates, where I should place this 3D layer?

Or is there any other way to paint on 3D scene in AE that I might have overlooked?

    Thank you.

P.S. I thouht Importing from 3DS Max (RPF) instead of C4D, but I might face the same problem.
