Cookie Cutter issues
Posted by Maria Watson on October 10, 2008 at 8:34 pmgah, Im really not sure how to word this at all…
lately whenever I use the cookie cutter effect, the image of the clip I have cookie cuttered over another clip will not just appear in the(box, circle, etc) but outside as well. It happens every few seconds and is very annoying.
Id really appreciate help ^.^

October 11, 2008 at 2:03 amHi Melissa, it sounds like what you are describing is the Repeat X or Repeat Y setting in the Cookie Cutter effect. Inside the effects box you probably slid one of those slots, so that it reads something other than 1, by accident. Causing multiple instances of the cookie cutter effect. In other words, if Repeat X has a 3 beside it and you chose the circle shape, you will now see 3 circles in a row. If both Repeat X and Y are set to 3 you will now see 3 rows vertically and 3 rows horizontally, etc. If they are both set to 1, you will only see one circle. But I could be wrong! Without being there and actually seeing it, it’s hard to be sure. Can you post a picture (printscreen) of what you’re seeing?

ok….this is what I was going for. A clip cookie cuttered over a completely different other clip

At random, images from the clip I have cookie cuttered appear into the other clip

another example…

heh, I hope the visuals make it easier to understand the problem :p

October 11, 2008 at 10:26 pmIt’s still hard to understand what you mean, as I don’t see any images on top of another in those examples. What I meant was, a screen grab of the Vegas timeline and the Preview Window at the point in time where the unwanted cookie cutter is showing up. With the clips large enough to see if there is any unwanted effect on any given clip. (Green button visible) But what it has to be is, you must have placed or copied that effect on to another clip by accident. I can’t see any other way it could be happening, unless the effect is on a track above.
