    Hi there,

I want to transcode some of my Footage into the HDV-Format (like shot from a Canon XH-A1).
I really want to transcode in this Standard, with all it’s lossy-ness 🙂
I need the Software for my PC/Windows.

But I don’t know how I can achieve that without an incredible expensive Transcoder; e.g., I tried MediaCoder which didn’t work, I saw there’s a HDV-Edition but that costs around 299$ (a bit too much, I think). I’m searching for something “cheap” or something free like MPEG Streamclip (which doesn’t do the Job, too…).

I heard I can achieve that with ffmpeg, but I don’t know how I can make it with this :/

    Have you guys any help?

    Best Regards

    Curious why?
Maybe it’s not the best workflow.

Telestream Episode can encode to HDV .mov but it starts at $495
