converting to 16:9
Hi
I have been trying to convert my Project to 16:9 using quicktime conversion. my project is in DV PAL 720×576 25fps and Im coverting it via choosing the dimensions 720×404. the aim is to get it to play on the web in a 16:9 format without the black bars.
However when I do this, although it is black bar free it appears to stretch the image.
How can I convert this without using letterbox and without distorting the images?
I have pretty much followed the advice as per the link I googled below:

Since you want to cut off part of your movie rather than shrink the whole thing, in that ‘Export Size Settings’ dialog tick the checkmark next to ‘Preserve aspect ratio using’ and set it to ‘crop.’
Compressor is really helpful for these kind of conversions because of its preview function which’ll allow you to see the results of fiddling with these settings before you send it to export.
