Converting tapes to editable format for PrPro
I am working on a doc and need to send Hi-8 and VHS tapes to a conversion house to prepare the video for editing. At $30/hour for conversion I am trying to determine what format to have them convert the tapes for editing in PrPro(Mac) and to reduce the time that the conversion takes(thus reducing my cost) and keeping the file size small for hard drive space.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?Thanks

Apple ProRes would be the best option to maintain quality
at a reduced file size.
