converting sequence setups

You can switch back, but you’ll need to make an adjustment to the clips in your sequence. Specifically, you’ll need to reset the basic motion and distort. This can be easily done by reseting it on one clip. Select the clip and select edit – copy. Now select the rest of the clips and select edit – paste attributes. Select both basic motion and distort and you should be good to go.
