converting .rmvb files ???
Is there any codec or freeware applications that will convert .rmvb files to anything workable like .mov? I’m using a mac and all i can find is PC programs.

Well then, either stop using it or get a friend with a pc. It’s a highly compressed codec anyway, it would be like using mpg4 video (squashed) for editing. A very bad idea.
