    Hello All,

So I am trying to use a video in final cut pro that has the codec:
Quicktime VR, VR Panorama, Photo – JPEG, Sprite

But when I imported it into FCP 7, naturally it played back as a still. I tried transcoding it in mpeg streamclip and compressor but nothing seemed to work.

It plays back normally in Quicktime 7 (as a moving panoramic shot).

Here is where I downloaded the QT VR Panoramic from:
    https://www.shakespearesglobe.com/about-us/virtual-tour/upper-gallery
I tried downloading both , Save as Source and Save as Quicktime.

I’m out of ideas. Does anyone know of a good way to convert this?

It isn’t a movie. It’s a still. That’s why it’s showing up as a still. Yes, it is a moving panorama, but a QT VR is basically one large still…stitched together from a bunch of stills, that you can pan and zoom…move. It isn’t video. That’s why all the normal tools that deal with video don’t work on it.

Any good ideas of how to turn it into a video?

Get screen capture software like Screenflow or SnapzPro…make it go full screen. Record the move, export that to QT…into an editing codec like ProRes.

You can also animate the move in After Effects or FCP or Motion.

Here is a VR video converter that works well on any VR videos downloaded from different sources. If you need to convert VR video to/from common video format like MP4, you can give it a try. Here is a detail guide: Best VR Video Converter for Converting Virtual Reality Videos
