I looking for a way to convert some old quicktime movies. It was exported off a Avid Media Composer 7.2 way back then. The MC was on MAC running OS 8, to give you some idea of how old these are. I have a bunch of these .Moov files that need the “Media Composer” codec to play them. The problem is that I don’t have the codec. Even if I did have it, I’d need quicktime pro run in OS 9 to use it, which I don’t have. The system is long gone and we don’t have OS9 anywhere.

Does anyone know of a way or have a codec that allow me to play these quicktimes so that I can convert them to a different codec?

    Thanks for your time.

    Running OS 10.4.11 / Intel G5 / Quicktime Pro 7.3 / Final Cut Studio 2 / Kona 3

You’re going to either have to get to an OS9 machine (to be able to use the avid codecs, or if you can get to a current avid (I think you have to have an adrenaline to read ABVB material.)
