Using compressor I am trying to convert a sequence in FC 7.0 back to a file that can be seen by a client. I have taken the H264 clips from 7D converted them to ProRes422 and dropped them in the timeline on FC for a raw edit. Now I want to review these short sequences with a client(Not using FC). I have been converting them using QT 7 H264 300kps in compressor and the video is not as good as I view the individual clips in QT before the conversion. Am I doing something wrong here or is there a better way. Each clip is 3 minutes

Well, no, it won’t look as good as the original files, or the converted ProRes files. You are taking full sized HD files and compressing them heavily to a much smaller format…very low data rate. It won’t look that good. Try the 800kps or the LAN setting. Yes, the files will be larger, but look better.

Quality – FIle size. they are tied. As one goes up, the other follows…down, still follows.
