    Hi,

I am looking for the best way of converting PAL 4:3 Material to 16:9 anamorph. I have been trying with Compressor and the result is pretty good except for one thing… I get a stutter in pans and zooms and fast movements… I checked everything and it is no field problem. I go in with Meridian compressed QT upper field and go out with the same. Tests with DV-compressed QT were not much better.

I wonder if anyone tried this before too and has any hints on where my problem could lie. Also, is the quality better using compressor than stretching your 4:3 clip in a 16:9 timeline directly in final cut??

Any hints for the best achievable quality within FC Studio would be highly appreciated, especially cosidering the stutter in movements.

    Thanks in advance,

    Karim

Put it in a 16:9 anamorphic timeline. Scale and move as required.
