  • Converting PAL 25p to 30p

I’m stuck in a bind unfortunately not created by myself for a change. I agreed to finish off a project for someone shot on hdv 30p but another person went out and shot the last portion in 25p.

How can I convert the footage to mesh with the 30p, which is where it needs to be for air in the States? My hope is to convert then complete the edit b/c I know we can combine frame rates from the states into one timeline and output without and issue inside final cut, but from Pal at 25p?

Any information would be appreciated b/c I’m stuck and on a tight deadline.

    Thanks, usually 60p Mike

You need 5 double frames every second.

Just try what looks best. Hopefully you don’t have much car shots 😛

Compressor, Natress or Jes Deinterlacer will be the first tries.
