I am trying to convert some DVCProHD footage from a P2 card into SD 10-bit uncompressed. When I do this in Compressor using the “Advanced Format Conversion” setting, it does not seem to change the frame rate of the footage from 23.97 to 29.97. When I open the converted file in QuickTime, the info panel shows that the frame rate is 29.97, but when I bring it into FCP the framerate is displayed as 23.97 and it requires a render in the timeline.

I’m just not understanding why Compressor is not converting the frame rate. What should I do in order to edit this footage in a SD 10-bit timeline?

If you are going to do this, be sure to change the “Frame Controls” to “Custom” or your frame rate will stay the same as the original clip. The “10-bit Uncompressed NTSC” preset defaults to “Frame Controls” of “Automatic”. FYI
