    Hi folks,

A friend has recorded something for me using a Panasonic camera. The files are now on a portable USB-HDD and the format is P2-format (codec is DV100_1080/50i). I have downloaded P2viewer from Panasonic-hp and it works for viewing the clips. Now I want to convert the clips to a format so that I can create a standard dvd – but all my converters fail because they don’t recognize P2 files. Is there a freeware/trial-converter which can transcode P2 clips to a format standard burner software can create a dvd from?

Are you on a Mac or a PC? Chances are you’ll need an editing program that can view the files such as Premiere on a PC or Final Cut Pro on a Mac.

I have a PC or a MAC with G4-CPU – I think there is only the possibility to use the PC. Is there a trial or demo version available for premiere? I think this will be the first and the last time I have this task 🙂

Go direct to Adobe they have a premiere demo that should fill the bill
