  • Converting NTSC to PAL?

Posted by Glenn Woiler on October 31, 2006 at 5:25 pm

    1. I have a bunch of programs finsihed, edited with FCP and need to
convert all of it to PAL. We have a Prime Image standards conveter,
but that means going to tape… thru the Prime Image, and back to tape
or in to FCP again. Is there a good way of doing it within FCP or with
Quicktime Pro? My few attempts have resulted in sharp but enenly jerky
    video. [a jerk every second]

    2. Also, what is the field order of PAL?

    thanks,
    Glenn

Try the G Standards Converter from Graeme Nattress

http://www.nattress.com and get his Standards Converter. We’re using it right now to convert NTSC to PAL for a broadcast HD project and it’s simply outstanding.

Be sure to print out his directions and follow them carefully. There’s an extra step of placing the original clip in a video well to ensure best quality.

I was told about JES Deinterlacer and it works pretty good for a freeware program.

Compare it to G Converter on a good display and you’ll see for what you pay the 100 U$ 😉
