    hi i am fairly new to after effects but have been getting on well with it apart from one thing, converting masks to keyframes.

    i have been doing all the tutorials i can find but have become stuck doing one from the GENARTS website:

    Technique: Flaring Write-on Effect
    1. Draw a mask on a solid layer, but choose Layer >
    Mask > Mode > None to make it invisible.
    2. Apply Effect > Stylize > Write-on onto the solid.
    3. In the timeline, click on

    select the mask shape option, with this selected command c and command v on the position, now it will work fine

    i finally get it.
    that has been bugging me for days.
    thanks for everyone on this site it is extremly helpful as i have learnt more about after effects and flash in two months than the whole previous year thanks to you guys.
