Activity Forums Maxon Cinema 4D Converting from .c4d to .3ds or .obj

    You can export from Cinema to a variety of formats that Max can read, including fbx, 3ds, obj, collada, and possibly others.

    Hi Adam – thanks for your post. The problem is I don’t own or have access to Cinema 4D. A client sent me a file, thinking it would import into Max, but .c4d files don’t.

    Looking for a work-around 🙂

    Well, without you seeing the file, you may have some limitations. Materials, cameras and so on. c4d has a lot of features that without baking, you won’t pass them on with any conversion.

    Ah, sorry, I misunderstood your situation. I would convert the file for you but unfortunately I’m sitting in an airport and I won’t be back at my machine until Fri. night.
