Converting FCP7 to FCPX problems
So I am trying to rebuild some old FCP7 projects in FCPX. I was able to export XML files which opened nicely in FCPX, but the media is not playing back? Everything is in the DV codec and plays back in the finder, but not in FCPX. I’ve tried relinking, but still everything looks black. Music and Titles are there, but not picture. Oh yeah, I can re-import the media to the library and it plays, is there a way to have it link to that file? Any suggestions?

It sound like you have mismatched settings between your timeline and source footage. Check to modify your sequence settings so that they match the frame size and frame rate of the original media.

What did you use to translate the XMLs?

where in fcpX do you change sequence settings?

Typically when this happens, (black clips) there’s a mistake in the XML. I would contact the developers of SendToX and ask them to look at your XML.
Are you sure you have the latest version of SendToX as well?
