  Converting DPX bt2020 files in DaVinci

  I have a finished, graded (restored) film that was delivered to me as .dpx files. I’m trying to encode this to UHD/HDR Blu-ray spec, and to do that I need to convert the .dpx files into a single file before feeding it to the encoder.

  I tried converting to ProRes 444 with Apple Compressor (and made sure to set everything according to the above spec), but the color got screwed up — way too dark. Since Premiere is not up to exporting bt.2020 colorspace, I got the Studio version of DaVinci… but I’m in over my head here.

  Would anybody be able to tell me the best way of preserving the color integrity of those DPX files while converting to a single file format, like DNxHR HQX?

  The notes say the files are in BT.2020 PQ with a color temperature of D65, with MaxCLL @ 1000 nits, max fall at 200 nits, and “LimitedRenge” (I’m unfamiliar with the term — they’re Japanese so this may be a typo).
