    Hi guys-
Is there a way to change a brush stroke to a vector object in ai?
I’m having to save to an older version so that I can use the shape
    in 3d.

Sure, just select the brush stroked part and select OBJECT/EXPAND APPEARANCE and it will convert to a vector object. This will work for most effects in illustrator.

Cool! I noticed the original path is still there.
Should that be deleted for 3d, do you think?

Ah nevermind! I found that icon in pathfinder that gets rid of the innards.

Thanks again for the speedy help – you saved my life!
