  • Converting Avid Bins to Final Cut Pro Bins?

Posted by Paul D on July 14, 2005 at 12:53 pm

    Hi there!

I’ve been working with Avid for the past few years and have recently purchased Final Cut Pro. I need to save all my old existing Avid bins for use in Final Cut. Is there any way of converting these old Avid Bins to Final Cut Bins or do I have manually redo all these bins in Final Cut? Any Ideas? Thanks!

    Paul,
just went through the change .
Assuming you won’t keep the Avid or have ongoing access to it, you may want to consider exporting a OMF2 version (no media) of your favourite sequences, the ones you’re most likely to go back to, as you can then purchase a product from Automatic Duck that will import them into FCP.
Once the Avid is gone, you can’t access those sequences for exporting to OMF2.

Sebsky Tools only converts the Avid Master Clips, and is fine for that.
