Converting a file for WIN format
I have a :30 sec spot that is about 9MB and I can export it down to 1.6MB as a .mov format. I can’t get an .avi file under 3.86MB and I don’t have the disk space to put it for viewing. Is there another WIN format codec I can use, or can you walk me though the steps to use Compressor or Export in FCP to make a 1-1.5 MB file that is WIN media player compatable? I am trying to reach both platforms.

Get Flip for Mac to make a WMV
Or create an MPEG-1 using Compressor. That’s a cross-platform format.

Or even consider using a Flash video format. Take a look at https://www.on2.com/video_samples/flix-video-samples/
to see where they’re going with that – very good quality-for-file-size performmance, and cross platform. -
