Converting a 23.98 Seq with multiple frame rates to 29.97 SD
I am sure this issue has been posted before, but I did not find a previous post that really matches our situation.
We are working a project that was passed on to us. Prev. editor, edited native XDCAM 24p. Added in SD 29 and rendered and finished everything in 23.98 Xdcam.
This will live on SD 29.97 DVD, as many effects were done at that rate on DS. Many clips are very steppy, at 23.98 That were initially 29.97
So, FCP now gets all screwey if I copy all the clips from the SD 23.98 Seq to a new SD 29.97 seq.
Many clips are out of sync, audio is clipped, stuff is slid around with holes etc. I tried Media Manager, but once I specified 29.97, it disallowed it and said it will stick with orig. source frame rate of 23.98. How do I force an easy conversion.
My current workaround, centers on going to ea. clip in a Media Managed copy of the project, and exporting an SD QT at 29.97, and relinking to the converted clips. Is there a batch way to do this, or a realitvely easy approach. So far No Joy. It is only a 4 minute project.
Sorry for the length of this initial post, but this is getting nuts.
Thanks
