I have some 720p/24pn video that I’d like to bring into my “NTSC 30i” project, but Avid Express Pro doesn’t allow mixed frame rates (23.976 and 29.97) in a project — at least as far as I know. Somebody suggested I use DVFilm’s MXFX to convert the 23.976 clips to 29.97, and I’ll buy that if I need to, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to convert the clips in Avid without going through MXFX. Can anyone help me with this?

With the latest version of MC, you can mix 720p/23.976, NTSC 23.976, and 1080p/23.976.

I have Avid Express Pro 5.2.4. Is there any way for me to bring the 720p/24pn clips into my 30i NTSC project in AEP? If it helps, I have all of the video — both 720p/24pn and 480i/24p — loaded onto my computer. I don’t know if there’s a way for me to convert the clips.

(It looks like Avid handles 480i/24p clips as 29.97 clips, whereas the 720p/24pn clips are handled as “true” 24 fps clips. That’s what I thought, anyway, but I could easily be mistaken.)
