Converting 23.976 fps Non Drop Frame to 23.976 fps Drop Frame
Hi,
I have searched for a solution for this problem, but I don’t seem to be able to find one, so I hope someone can help me.
I have a .avc file which in this case is 1980×1080 23.976 fps with the duration 01:32:20
The file is used for a Blu-ray production. On the blu ray I need subtitles, but my subtitle program Annotation Edit doesn’t support .acv files, so I have to convert the .avc file into a .mov (in order to be sure that the subtitles is in sync)
The .mov file (Apple Prores 422) is still 1980×1080 23.976, but FCP, Compressor and Annotation Edit say that it is 01:32:14, even though QuickTime 7 says it is 01:32:20.
This means that I make subtitles that suit a duration 01:32:14, but when I play back the movie on my Bluray player the movie is 01:32:20 and the subtitles don’t fit. This seems to be caused by the .avc file is Drop Frame and the .mov is Non Drop Frame.
Annotation doesn’t seem to support 23.976 fps Drop Frame (but supports 29.97 fps Drop Frame)
So what I want now is to make a .mov file that is 01:32:14 and then compress it to a .h264 file with a duration of 01:32:14.
Because if I do that with my existing .mov file it ends up as a .h264 with a a duration of 01:32:20.So how do I make a .mov file with the duration of 01:32:14 that stays 01:32:14 when I compress it to a .264 file?
Best Regards
