The footage was shot at 1080i 24. We have an AJA I/O box and were advised to use FCP ingest setting 1080i 29.97 Apple ProRes 422 by an AJA support rep after having trouble ingesting at 1080i 24.

August 27, 2008 at 5:58 pmYou can’t shoot 23.98 psf on DVCPro HD tape. It’s either 24p with pulldown or 24pA.

August 27, 2008 at 6:01 pmSorry for the confusion–I’m in over my head on this one. Note from the shooter states it’s 1080i 24p.

Yep. 1080i (as in 29.97) and 24p as in 24p with 3:2 pulldown and not 24pA with Advanced pUlldown.
YOu are saying you have an ioHD box? Or just an io (SD)?

August 27, 2008 at 7:15 pmWe have an IO SD as well as a Kona LHe box.
I’d be okay with trashing the Apple ProRes ingested clips and starting fresh with digitizing, but am not sure what FCP setting to use.
Best,

August 27, 2008 at 7:23 pmYou’re good. Now all you have to do is take those clips to Compressor, do the rev telecine and change the output from 1080 to 720 and the ocdec to DVCPro HD.
