if you have to build menus and those thinks, you must have a video converter a very big HD, and of course the sofware to capture and building menus. If not a DVD writer with a RCA input to burn DVDs direct from the VHS

Pinacle offers some easy-to-use equipment under 100$
That contains connection inputs for S-Video and Composite, more or less everything you need to capture video from an VHS recorder.
Pinnacle equipment usually comes with an easy-to-use program too, for capturing video data thru your hardware, compiling it to a DVD, and makes it ready to burn. So give it a try!

I recently purchased a RCA brand VHS/DVD recorder at WAL*MART for $168.00. Put in the VHS tape and a blank DVD and press the “Copy” button on the front panel. Done. No computer necessary. I have been using DVD-R disks and have not experienced any problems. I have over 70 VHS tapes to copy. For me this was the simplest, cheapest, and quickest solution.
