    Hi,

How do you convert a shape to a spline in C4D? I’ve got a helix spline shape and I’d like to convert it to a spline so I can push and pull the individual points on it. I saw this done in a tutorial, but haven’t figured out how to do it.

Here’s the tutorial where it’s done (around 40 seconds in): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDDS2RsNCrU&fmt=18

I searched the forum on the subject and the closest thing I could find was the position track to spline command under Timeline Window->Function. But using that didn’t do anything I could notice to the helix.

    thanks

Just select it and hit C on your keyboard for the “make editable” command. Works for all parametric objects.

Thanks Adam. And then are you supposed to click the spline button to make it so all the individual points on the new spline are visible? I’ve found that that works, but I wasn’t sure if there’s another way.

    thanks again,

You can just select the new spline and enter points mode (icon to left of editor window).
