I have an SD Premiere Pro project that is very titler intensive with LOTS of text graphics created with PPro’s titler; each title with several keyframes, etc.

I’d like to convert it for use in an HD project. I can get the titles into my HD project (by importing the whole SD project) but can not find any way to change the titles to different definition. I can bring them in the HD timeline and they look alright in the titler, but revert to SD when I try to use them in an HD timeline.

My guess is that, if it is even possible, I’d still have to change the font size. But that seems much easier than re-building several dozens of titles.

Any one know of a way to convert titles created in an SD project to HD?

    Hi Jim,

As far as I know, you just need to manually change the font sizes. Be aware though, if you have an SD and HD sequence in the SAME project and change the titles, I think they’re going to change globally, messing up your SD titles then.

Either do a SAVE AS and save the HD version separate before modifying any titles, OR – titles can be Exported. Select the title(s) in the Bin, then go to File > Export > Titles and this will save them out to the location of your choice. Then they can be Imported into another project and modified outside the original project.

Going back to Premiere 6.5, titles were always saved were you could find them, now they are hidden unless you actually Export to the hard drive folder.

In case anyone else bumps into a similar problem….

After an hour or so of experimenting, I discovered a partial solution: the “make new title” button creates a duplicate of the existing title using the current sequence’s definition
    AND
it adjusts the font sizes to (sorta) match the new screen size.

    So:
bring SD titles into HD timeline
open each title (one at a time)
    make new title using existing

I still have to adjust each HD title to the length of the old one, then copy/paste attributes from old to new.
