We have a client that has a half finished program edited in Premier. We need to import the timeline and relink the footage. What is the best way to import? Thanks in advance.

You can export an EDL from Premiere and import that into FCP. That will bring the timeline and all clips from that timeline into FCP.

You can also export an AAF of the Premiere timeline and bring that into FCP. Again you’ll get all the clips in that timeline.

If you want all the clips to also come in from Premeire, throw all of them into a timeline and again, export that timeline as either an EDL or AAF.

Maybe a silly question, but will the clips in the timeline transfer over and work in FCP, even if they are H264 clips, or will they need to trans-code to ProRess 244 within FCP?

    Thanks
