    Hi

I’m working with footage from Sanyo HD 1010 inside FCP 7.
I created several sequences of each selected clips that I want to use in my edit.

From those sequences I made Subclips of each selected clip inside the sequence, and then converted them to ProRes 422 LT.

After some good converts, I realized that some of the converted clips gone off sync in a weird way (the sound starts OK and in the middle of the clip it jumps to the start – the video stays fine but the sound jumps to the start of the clip).
I thought it happened while converting, but then I realized that it happened when I created the subclips…

Does anybody knows how to solve this?

    Thanks
    Roi

Like most of these inexpensive HD cameras, the Sanyo records as MPEG4, which is not an editing codec in FCP. So, you will need to transcode the files to ProRes before editing in FCP. Many are doing that using MPEG Streamclip, which is a free download available all over the web.
