  Convert AVCHD 1080 60i FX from Sony PXW-x70

  Due to a lack of financial resources, I’m still having to use Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.

  Our camera operator has obtained a Sony PXW-x70. He said he “dumbed down” footage on the camera to AVCHD 1080 60i FX, but I know of no direct way of converting to a format for use in Pro CS4.

  I’m hoping folks can make suggestions on how to convert to a usable AVI format for editing in CS4. I see in the camera manual that it could have been shot at 720/60p HQ or 720/50 HQ. If that’s relevant.

  (Trying to think about next time, as well)

  I can read the chip and have transferred all the files to a hard drive, but now where can I go for a transfer, if at all.

  Any suggestions very much appreciated.
