I have a PNG (created in photoshop) that I created a stroke for via Layer Style/stroke. I want to add a trim path to that stroke. How do I do that?

maybe… use auto-trace, then use that mask to create a stroke (generate>stroke) use that to trim stroke, apply the layer style to the new stroke and it’ll draw on and off

Yes, that does work. A lot of prep work for 50+ PNGs to work with. I was hoping for a simple “Convert stroke to path” script or something. I’ve been painting free hand up to now, even though not as accurate.

another thought… generate>Vegas… add to png change to image contour and use alpha. Fiddle with settings to get it to be one line and then you can use length as a trim. The only issue I see is that it creates the ‘stroke’ on the inside of the alpha but maybe that’s not an issue! hope this helps

    This is good!

…and keyframe ‘segment length’ to animate path. Not a lot of flexibility but it works.

    Thanks.
