Convert 3/4″ NTSC to Apple ProRes at 24 fps
My client wants me to convert archival footage from 3/4-inch tape to Apple ProRes at 24 fps. Is this possible? How would I go about it?

If you have a umatic deck, you need an interface/breakout box to trans-code the analog signal into a digital format.

You say 24 FPS, is the three-quarter inch tape shot in PAL or NTSC? You’d need a PAL version of the umatic deck to handle the euro format.
There are numerous cottage services that maintain these old decks and make transfers for you. If the footage is short, they’re usually more cost-effective than DIY solutions where you need to buy the deck and recondition it yourself.
