    the short version:

all footage shot and edited on our website is posted in 16×9. a major client is asking for us to send video to their website, except that they’re formatted for 4×3. i’d rather not export the sequence and re-import using the “edge crop” setting on the deck….is there a way that i can incorporate, or rather, format my sequence and export into a 4×3 video?

the only other solution that i’ve come up with is to add a letterbox mask and then export in their 640×480 settings. is there any other way?

Can you crop to 4:3 during the encode?

…Or you could lay a reformat effect on the top of our sequece, giving you a letter boxed 4:3 sequence…

If you copy your sequence then add an additional video track on top of your copied sequence, you can put a pan and scan effect on the filler in your added track and render. You will then have both a 16 by 9 version and a 4 by 3 version.
