    Hi,
I’ve been trying to export my movies (mini DVD Sony camcorder) to my Apple TV. When I export from Imovie to AppleTv I get a nice, full screen image (Format H.264, 960×540). My problem is that i’ve been trying to do the same from FCP but when I use the Quicktime export to AppleTV I get a movie with the same resolution (Format H.264, 960×540) but NOT full screen… (black bars on the side)…. I then tried to export from FCP to a custom quicktime format, I get the same result, format is the same but black bars on the side.. :o(
I then tried to export from FCP using the Compressor Apple TV and I get a 720×480 movie….
    This is making me crazy….
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thx
    Dominique

First off exporting using quicktime conversion is not the best way to export out of FCP. You will get much better results using compressor.

[Domiafr] “I then tried to export from FCP using the Compressor Apple TV and I get a 720×480 movie…. “

That is the size that the Apple TV preset is in compressor is supposed to make, because the native resolution of the Apple TV is 720p.

If your video is not in a 16×9 format you will probably have to manually change some of the settings to keep your aspect ratio correct.
