    I have tried the gain settings -3, 0, 3db settings of the Sony HVR-Z5U camera. Even if I put at -3db I still see some “grain” in the footage. Any recommendations to reduce the gain? I can still go negative gain on this, at the same time I don’t want to darken the exposure.

    Basically, light up the shadows a bit at production time. If you do run and gun stuff, you might have to live with it, or consider a camera with a larger imager.

    There are also plugins like the one from https://www.neatvideo.com/“>Neat Video that a good job at removing it without considerably affecting the rest of the image.
