    Hello,

is there any solution to run FCP as “video deck” slaved to something like Pro tools? My idea is use of FCP as external video player controlled with Sony 9-pin.

I’m not FCP user, cannot look into software, and manual says that FCP can only control external decks to make ingest or layback, and no information about external control for “player-like” playback.

I will appreciate any information or comments!

Avid has this feature. Unless there is a third party solution I don’t know about, I don’t think its possible with FCP.

FCP doesn’t do this — but perhaps Virtual VTR will do what you’re looking for.

No point in tying up your FCP as a video player, especially as every DAW these days runs a video track. Make a quicktime and drop it into ProTools or similar. It will also mean absolute frame syncing during jogging.

FCP will only control no be controlled via 9 pin.
