We have a project that calls for installation of one or two cameras at a building site that’s 60 miles from us. The goal is record time-lapse of some interior construction and design over about 30 days. We’d like to use GoPro cameras due to their size and low-cost, but I’m having trouble figuring out how we’d control those via wifi. It seems all the cameras we’ve looked at create their own WiFi hot spot rather than connect to an existing network, and are limited to control at about 150 feet to the other device.

We want to be able to start/stop and control the cameras from our offices via ethernet (60 miles away). Has anyone done this? Seems like it would be a fairly common thing nowadays. I’ve read that you can connect the cameras to a local computer or tablet, then connect to that via internet, but the methods to achieve that are extremely vague.

    Thanks in advance.
