Continuum Complete woes continue.
Well isn’t this fun. They charge $250 for an upgrade that doesn’t work and then when it does, older projects don’t. After loading 4.1 in my otherwise perfectly working 5.1.2 system about 4 times with no controls in the filters window, (yes, I did the caps lock thing) I installed the patch which did not work. Then I got on the phone with Boris tech support and they had me install the patch for Intel machines, even though my Mac is an older G5. That worked, but then a week later (yesterday) I went to open a pre-4.1 upgrade install project and BOOM, FCP shut down instantly, tried fixing permissions, trashing prefs and restarting, BOOM, loading projects created before the Boris upgrade would not open.
So, remaining calm in spite of a 6-month old project waiting for final revisions on the line, the first thing I did was to move all the BCC plugins to my desktop and everything was fixed.
BCC works fine in AE7, so I’m just stumped. I for one don’t feel I should have to drag my plugins around to make them work.

Reminds me off when I first bought AE7 and BCC. Lack of displays and crashes all over the place. I became their personal beta tester for 3 MONTHS until they could address all the problems. I think they must be
distracted by the aquisition of Media 100. Their stuff is nice but I feel a certain lack of confidence with there products at “software or hardware upgrades”. -
All I can tell you is the BCC 4 Script patch worked on our machine. We did this about a month ago now I guess and it’s been running perfect since then. We had the issue where whenever we tried to use Title3D or parked the timeline at a Title3D element, FCP would crash. It’s the Intel Mac Pro Quad 3.0.

Im guessing you don’t want to hear the “never upgrade mid-project” litany, so I’ll spare you that 😉
Is there any way you can downgrade your FCP setup to get the job finished?Andy

The BCC 4 “Script patch” is working fine here as well. And the new Red 4.1 patch is also stable on all my machines.

I normally follow that rule, just didn’t apply it to something as simple as a plugin, my bad. Fortunately, taking the BCC out to the desktop is working in the interim, so the project is getting finished. Thanks.
