    Hi Sarah

Do you have the green background layer in your pre-comps (1-6), too?
You should make this pre-comps without a backgroundlayer and place them into the main comp.
It looks like they are just placed over each other but because all of them have the same backgroundcolor it looks like it’s cut. 😉

Or just use the Lighter blend mode in your main comp for all pre-comps, then it should go away.

If I’m wrong check if the layers are all at the same z-position, since they are all switched to 3D.
Many layers at the same z-position can cause flickering or other problems.

    I could be wrong thou.
Already did a restart? Always helpful with weird AE problems…

I tried what you suggested, but still no luck. 🙁
I really need this problem fixed.

I did not have a separate background layer in the individual compositions, but I did go through and change the background color in them to be black, so only the final composition has the green.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. This isn’t my first AE video I’ve made, I’ve never encountered this problem before.

Also, I tried removing the 3D as well as looking at their z-positions. A lot of them have a similar z-position as 0. But moving them around didn’t seem to change anything. The screen is still cut off.

    Help!! 🙁

Did you delete the backgrounds in the pre-comps completely? If not, do so since you don’t need them if you are placing it into the main comp which has your desired background. Changing the blend mode to lighten didn’t do anything?

You could send me the project file together with the images (I assume they are AI-vectors), if this is an option for you just say so?

Another try: go into the pre-comps where your images/vectors are placed, select one of them and thenn auto-trace them (let the auto-tracer make a new solid instead of applying the masks to the original layer) and use the solids+masks instead of the vectors/images.

    I hope it helps

Does the content that’s being cut-off go beyond the borders in the pre-comp that it’s coming from?

Dino – If that is an option for you, it’s an option for me! 🙂 I could zip up the file and send it over. I’m sure whatever this problem is, it’s an easy fix–I’m just unaware of how to do it. I have only been working in after effects for a little over a month.

But your help is very much appreciated.

Dan – To my knowledge, no. They are not going past the borders.
