  • Continually Rasterize ‘stroke’ effect?

Posted by Tim West on June 19, 2009 at 11:00 am

    Hi,

I am building animation that consists of a large compostion (2000×2000 ‘master’) which contains clusters of vector imagery (illustrator) which I will set to continually rasterize.

I’ll then bring the ‘master’ comp into a smaller comp (‘moves’) to do my moves – including zooms which will stay sharp with the continual rasterization.

I would like to use an animated stroke to link the moves – adding this into the ‘master’ comp.
Is there a way of keeping the strokes sharp like the vector elements?

I’d really appreciate any advice or tips on how to achieve this kind of ‘moves on a big comp’ type of animation, using sharp vector elements – especially using a stroke effect to link sections together.

    Thanks for your time,

    T.

Dave’s suggestion is a good one.

But another idea is to use shape layers. They are vector graphics, and they’re always continuously rasterized.

Hmmm – thanks for the suggestions – not quite what I am after …

Ideally I am looking for a stroke effect with the features of 3D stroke (start/end/offset etc) – which will remain sharp if I scale it up.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks again
