I have a little rig…basically some wires (cylinders) connecting to circuits (boxes). I have this rigged with about a dozen joints. Now, I’d like to constrain a complex object to one of those circuits (boxes). I don’t want to bind this complex object to the rest of the rig….because it’s got too much geometry, displacement & mograph going on. I’d just like the complex object to follow the axis of one of the boxes. I tried using a constraint tag, constraining the complex object to one of the boxes….but this does not work with the rig’s movement…..it ignores the effect of the joints.

Thanks for any help on this.

    never mind….argh…not enough sleep.
just gotta drop it under the object as a child. geez.

    No….wait, i knew i tried that.

Ya, that still ignores any animation provided by the joints.

    My question still stands 🙂

    Ok, figured out one way…

create null, add a constraint tag to that…..use one of the joints as the target, drop complex object into null….offset complex object if necessary.

Instead of dropping the object under your rigged geometry, make it a child of the joint.
