Today it has been one of those days. Project due out and constant crashes. After Effects 6.5 Pro. Photoshop CS1. Motion 2.0. FCP 5.0. All are crashing (kernal panic). Seems to be getting worse. I’ve taken to saving between every input. (A pain).

Nothing seems to be uniform or cause the crash. Usually it’s when I click on something and get the dreaded dumpout.

I’ve repaired permissions. Guess I could dump the preferences, but it’s not just FCP or Motion that are crashing.

    Here’s my setup

    Dual 2.0 G5
1.5 G of Apple memory. (I’ve added additional only to return it because the machine would hardly run with any other RAM but APPLE’S.)
ATI Radeon 9700 feeding a 30″ Cinema Display
2-GRaid 500’s striped together as one big drive.
    OS 10.3.9
    Excederin

Any suggestions would keep me from going face down in the pool.

KP’s are pointing at a problem in the OS… It’s time to do a clean install of it for SURE… An archive and install is worth a try, but nothing beats a backup of files, and erase and install and reinstall of all things FCP Studio…

I’ve got Tiger. Do you think an install of it would fix things? If so rather than do an upgrade should I do an archive and install?

    Thanks for the reply!
