We have an old G4 Dual 800 that we have been using on the side of our main FCP suite to do client dvd’s and things of that nature. A couple months ago, I updated the OS and bumped it up to final cut 5. Ever since then we have been unable to capture anything over about 15 min in length. We capture to an internal media drive that is NOT the system drive. It is only about 25% full. We only work in DV on this system as we usually bring things in through a DA-Max. We’ve tried multiple different variations of capturing now as well as capturing large duration clips, coming off of VHS/Beta/Digibeta (with machine control/timecode) as well as trying to bypass the Da-max and load striaght DV off of a JVC DR-DV300. Every time though it drops frames after about 15-20 min of capture. Before the Update we had captured hour long things to the very same drive. Any ideas about why we are having this problem. Thanks in advance.

    Machine specs: G4 Dual 800; 2gb ram ; tiger 10.4.6 ; Final cut 5.0.4

Forgot to mention the media drive is formatted as mac os extended (no journaling enabled). And on the Update of the OS and FCP, I wiped everything clean.
