  • Consolidating Sequence Media using existing media

I have read all the posts about using Media Manager to create an offline version of a sequence for on-lining, but i’m having no success consolidating my seq media using just the parts of the existing media that i need with handles. For those of you from the avid world, this would be quite easy…using consolidate or even exporting an OMFI with media. However, i’m not sure if FCP can do this.

Here’s what i want to do.

I have a massive project, for which i captured every tape in it’s entirety…hours and hours of it. Now i just want to archive that project (about 20 mins long) with just the part of the clips from the media i used for the cut – including handles. I do not want to re-digitize…i just want to “trim” the existing media, or rather copy just the parts of the media.

Does anyone have a solution for this?
