I just completed a project using XPress Pro 4.6 (without Mojo) on a G5. Before laying out to tape, I had created a new bin with a new sequence in it, both titled Final Mix, and in that Final Mix sequence I copied in all the other sequences that I needed. I tried to Consolidate this Final Mix sequence to a separate drive. I selected the Final Mix sequence, performed Select Media Relatives from the Final Mix bin, and then Consolidated the highlighted items in the Media Tool (which was everything) to a separate drive (creating a copy, not deleting the original material).

Now I’m not able to reopen project, however. It tries to open with this Final Mix bin and sequence open, but Avid just freezes up on me. My quick fix is simple; I shut down Avid, remove Final Mix from the Avid Attic and Avic Projects bin, and it opens without these, still reading the media in the original bins from my original hard drive. It’s not crisis, since I can easily recreate these sequences into a new Final Mix.

But I’d like to know what I’m doing wrong so that I can Consolidate my Media to different drives and free up space on my main drive.
