We are cutting a show with the following resolutions on the timeline: HD1920x1080/50i, HD1440x1080/50i and SD25i, all imported/digitized at 1:1MXF. When Consolidating to an external hard-drive for transport to the Post facility for colour grade and output to SD DigiBeta tape, does the resolution setting of the project make any difference to the consolidated media? i.e. does MC ver 3.5.0 attempt any tanscodes as part of the consolidate due to the mixed resolutions, or does it, as I am thinkung it should, just consolidate the media as it exists on the system? Are there any pitfalls to watch out for when doing the SD output? We are using a Post facility to make use of their higher-grade MC Adrenaline. (Ours is the software version with standard def SDI Mojo and the SD output looks horrible) Thanks, Stu.

Consolidate will NOT transcode your clips. It just copies them over with the handles you assign.

Thanks for confirmation Terence. It is what I thought, but someone brought up the possibility of a transcode of the HD media if the project is set to SD. Cheers, Stu.
