DVD player to your DV camera to FCP. Or thru a Digital Analogue converter like the ADVC-110 by Canopus.

Or you can put it into your computer and use MPEG STREAMCLIP (google it) and convert the footage you want.

None of these methods work for copy protected material, however.

Assuming you have a DVD drive in or connected to your Mac:

    1) Download MPEG streamclip for free off the internet.
    2) Rip and re-encode as DV or similar.
    3) Get down on hands and knees and thank chosen deity/Steve jobs that someone developed something as useful as MPEG streamclip and made it FREE.

    Enjoy.

    Anna,
When you export from MPGStreamclip choose 8b Uncompressed or any other hight quality codec. Don’t export as DV.
    Cheers,
